God is in the details

God is in the details

Broadly speaking, the keys to a strong essay is twofold:

1. Details. “God is in the details,” as they say (pun intended). You must be detailed and specific in your explanations. I cannot stress this enough. The best strategy to being as specific as possible is to always imagine your reader is someone who does not have ANY pre-knowledge of the religion and religious service you are describing.

2. Descriptive writing. That is, how well you describe in “real-time” fashion what you have observed before/during/after the religious service. Make me, the reader, imagine and feel as though I’m there with you observing what you’re observing. The significance of real-time descriptions is that it contextualizes your explanations organically and seamlessly.
