  • This Assignment Part 1 & 2: You will create and implement a close reading activity specifically addressing the use of text-dependent questions with your intermediate literacy learners in grades 4-6 of your choice. Make sure include state standards. Using close reading activity instructional plan. Then, write 3 page summary/reflection paper. Using APA style and reference.

Part 1: Using Instructional Plan Template: Choose any literacy learner grade complete close reading activity lesson plan.

  • Create and implement a close reading activity specifically addressing the use of text-dependent questions with your intermediate literacy learners in grades 4-6. Closing reading activity with group of intermediate literacy learners in grades 4-6 in a small group setting.

 

 

  • As part of your Close Reading Activity, you will complete a comprehensive Instructional Plan that addresses various instructional considerations. Respond to the questions in the close reading activity instructional plan template.

 

 

Part 2: Write 3- page Summary/Reflection paper should include the following questions below: Using APA style and references.

 

 

  1. Provide a description of the text from grades 4-6 you selected for your Close Reading Activity and include an explanation of why you selected this text based on text-complexity principles and the characteristics of your literacy learners in grades 4–6.

 

  1. Be sure to discuss the pre-assessment data you collected.

 

  1. Explain how your students responded to the text during the writing section of the activity. Also, include an explanation of why you chose this type of writing instruction/method. Provide specific examples from the activity and include student work samples as an appendix to your paper.

 

  1. Explain how you developed students’ metacognition related to the selected text.

 

  1. List the text dependent questions from learning resource and explain why you created these questions.

 

  1. Explain conclusions that you can draw from this lesson that will inform your instructional practice for grades 4-6.
