Hot or not – Just try

In this lesson you are taking the plunge and actually participating in a scientific discussion with a scientist and her work.   Watch her video below.  Then develop two questions that you would like to ask her.  You will submit these questions in a post for her to look at for this week’s assignment.  Dr. Weigel will then respond to some of those questions in a video that I will post on Monday.  See below for how your questions will be graded.  We look forward to seeing what you come up with!

USE THE CRITERIA BELOW TO SEE HOW YOU WILL BE GRADED:

 

Level (per question) Speak Like a Scientist
None (0) Missing.
Emerging (1) Question has incorrect use of terminology

Or

The question is not connected to other content.

Developing (2) Questions use scientific terminology correctly, but are only vaguely connected to other content.

Or

The question and supporting materials are vague in their use of the scientific terminology.

Proficient (3) Question contains correct use of scientific terminology and has supporting statements to help frame the question.  The question synthesizes content from Dr. Weigel’s presentation to either the student’s personal experience, course content, current events, or other material.
