Ethical Considerations

Consider the following case:

Dr. Smith is a supervisor in a counseling center. One of the counselors she supervises often comes in late to work. One night, when Dr. Smith is dining out with friends, she sees the counselor at another table, talking loudly and appearing to be intoxicated.

On the basis of the above case, discuss the following:

  • What ethical considerations does Dr. Smith have with regard to the counselor?
  • How should she address the situation with the counselor?
