The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your knowledge on how to research legal issues/questions and to demonstrate your knowledge on how to read and interpret legal information you have found with your research

Directions: The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your knowledge on how to research legal issues/questions and to demonstrate your knowledge on how to read and interpret legal information you have found with your research. The Final Project consists of two parts and is worth 225 points (which is over 20% of your final grade), so you will want to be sure you have enough time to submit your best work.

In Part 1, you will ask a legal question and then find legal authorities that help you answer the question. Your question may involve federal or state law, and needs to be an issue that is large enough to require a variety of authorities (For example, “What is the speed limit on I-90 in Minnesota” is not a large enough question. However, “Is a search warrant required to search a car that has been towed by city government?” is sufficient, and will be used as our sample question.) Also, you cannot allow any legal question that has already been used in the class (<link is hidden> the grandparent visitation issue from the beginning of class).

For Part 2 of this assignment, follow these instructions:
