Law and society 200
Final Paper Law and Society Due date: December 9th at 11:59pm Final paper is due December 9th on blackboard. I will be submitting grades by Dec 14th. That means you MUST submit your final paper on time, unless excused prior to due date. For your final paper, you will work on three journal entries that you will submit on the last day of class. You will choose three readings after the midterm, then you will analyze, make connections with course readings and your own lives that is relevant to each reading. This is not a summary. It is a critical analysis and application of theory to everyday experiences—contributing to your understanding of how law works in society. You will write a 2-2.5page paper for each critical reading analysis. Therefore, you will submit a total of 6-7.5pages as your final paper. For each critical reading analysis, you will need to answer the following: 1) About the article: What is the author(s) argument? What evidence does the author(s) use to support their argument? (2 points per article) 2) Connecting theory from the article to everyday life experiences: How does this reading connect/differ with readings throughout the course? How is this reading relevant to anything in our society today or your own lives? (4 points per article) 3) Law and Society: How does this article show the relationship between law and society? How did this article contribute to your understanding of law and society? (4 points per article) You must complete this critical analysis for three readings from Week 9 onwards. You can choose any three readings that you would like. The critical analysis is worth 10 points for each reading, thus, here is your break down: Critical analysis article 1 = 10 points Critical analysis article 2 = 10 points Critical analysis article 3 = 10 points = 30
