Write an essay discussing Primo Levi’s Survival in Auschwitz, discussing why its original title, in Italian, If This is a Man, fits the book better. Please follow these guidelines:
Introduction: Include the author, title in English, Italian title, a little information about the book, and end with the thesis, which is asserting that the original title is better than the American title. (This should be at minimum 5 sentences)
Minimum 3 body paragraphs: Each body paragraph should be one reason, with several examples, that the original title fits the book best. For example, you might have one body paragraph that looks at the way the prisoners react (not like men), another on how the Nazis and guards act (not like men), etc. You must use at least 2 quotes in each body paragraph, utilizing MLA format for citations. These paragraphs must be at least 10 sentences each. (Paragraphs may be longer, may use more than 2 quotes, and you may have more than 3 body paragraphs).
Conclusion: Restate your thesis and sum up your points. This should be at least 5 sentences in length.
Please proofread and edit for spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors. Essays with many of these mistakes will lose 10%.
You do not need to use outside resources and do not need a works cite page.

Sample quote, written correctly:
When Levi is released from the infirmary, he describes himself “as helpless and vulnerable as a new-born baby” (57). For example, he leaves the infirmary without a bowl or spoon, without a belt to hold up his pants, and is sent to a new barrack.
*Notice that I set the quote up and then explain (not re-state) what the quote means. I also used MLA format, using the page number only in the parenthesis, with the period outside.
