Discussion Paper #7: This week we are looking at two National Park Units that each preserve stories and events of profound injustice and persecution: Trail of Tears National Historic Trail and Manzanar National Historic Site. Compare and contrast the general approach taken by the National Park Service at each of these units, addressing both some general issues pertaining to each site and also one or two examples of specific interpretive strategies and techniques employed at each. For the specific interpretive strategies, our readings present and discuss many, and you may choose whatever you wish to focus on.
