Personal Life Span Project
a. Draw a map of your life. Begin with your earliest memories and trace roadblocks,
crossroads and routes you have taken. Make sure to highlight all your greatest
accomplishments, disappointments, and experienced crises you are comfortable sharing.
Your map should highlight at least 10 significant events in your life and the effects of those
events and how they contributed to whom and where you are today.
Some students have made Power Point presentations with stock images of the computer to represent
events in their lives, others have used markers and drew their own pictures on a posterboard, and some
used pictures from magazines or photos they have. The choice is yours. Be in safe surroundings when
working on this project. The process may bring up emotional memories from your past so try to allow
yourself to acknowledge the emotions and feel them.
