The following group work is aiming to practice and develop the above stated critical skills and abilities. What would you do to build a team? This is a team-based assessment, where you have to allocate yourselfto any ofthe teams, theoretically, as identified on the course Moodle site. In practice, however, I would suggest you to make a team whom you can communicate on a regular basis. The link, œbuild your team for group work, is available in Week 1 slot. Click on this link, and then select the group and click on the œchoice button, and finally, scroll down and click on the œsave my choice button. There should be no more than 3 members in a group; preferably from 3 different cultures. The objective ofthis team-based assessment is to have increased communication and network building, cross-cultural understanding and further strengthening your critical and rationale thinking abilities. Therefore, it is expected that you, as a team player, will practice and achieve these critical skills. Exchange your communication IDs (SkypelE-maiIlFacebook etc) andlor phone numbers etc., and start your team work. You will use the feedbackslcomments of your written assessment, and reflect and apply those (where possible) in this group work assessment. What is the task? This is a summative assessment that is grounded on your written assessment and it’s feedback. This challenging assessmentltask would provide you a re: world experience through an applied and innovative task and with team effort. Based on your written assessment, where you have conducted the international marketing environment analysis and found critical challenges and opportunities for international marketers, in this piece of group assessment, however, we assume each team as international marketers’team. Each team will develop a unique Website with their offer (i.e. any product or service) with an aim to market this productlservice for the Australian consumers. The Website must include the offer, and demonstrate and reflect how their offer would fit within the current marketing environment (such as not threatening to any current rules) and how their offer holds current market opportunities. It must also reflect and include international marketing mix strategies for the offer you would made for the Australian consumers. Before you start, some examples of ˜student-made˜ Web links are placed on the course Moodle site. This Website must be developed with a team effort. Once developed, the team will complete the marking criteria form and self-assessment form. One team will complete one form and provide all relevant details in that form. The team will copy and paste the Web link in the specified space provided in the marking criteria and the self-assessment form. The form must be uploaded online through a specified link available in Week 12 slot on the course Moodle site and by the due date. Please see course Moodle site for submission guidelines. How can I get a free hosted Website? There are a number of free online sources, including, for example, www.webs.com, www.wix.com, www.sites.google.com etc. How would I be assessed and marked? The team members will assess their own work, and complete and upload the self-assessment form. The course teacher will evaluate their work and will compare it with other teams. The teams will also have an opportunity to see all the Websites, as well. The final grade will be allocated by the course teacher and coordinator. As this is a summative assessment, there will be no feedback for this assessment. Your team’s mark will be your mark. Note: It is expected that the team members will contribute equally to this ˜fun piece˜ of assessment. Team members are required to specify and briefly write their contributions in the marking criteria and self-assessment form. Please read the task description˜ above. A self-assessment criteria (see below), based on the graduate attributes and the learning outcomes, will be used. Please download the marking and self-assessment criteria form from the course Moodle site. The five-point scale [Awful (F), Ample (P), Adequate (C), Admirable (D), and Awesome (HD)] will be used for each ofthe following statements: The team gained knowledge in terms of international marketing environment, assessment of an overseas market and formulation of relevant strategies; The team members communicated on a regular basis and developed their understanding relevant to this assessment; The team members demonstrated leadership skills and abilities during grouplteam discussions; The team members searched for, and gathered and interpreted required information to complete this assessment; The team members were ethical and professional in terms of delivering this assessment; and Overall, the team demonstrated their cognitive, technical, creative and self-management skills and abilities
