- Use the process of cultural formulation and the ‘OARS’ concept from motivational interviewing and provide a short transcript of 3-5 pages demonstrating a therapeutic dialogue with the patient. *The transcript should be presented similar to the example on pages 69-71 in the Miller & Rollnick textbook.
- Try to determine what Ms. H thinks is the cause of her problem. There may be numerous factors. (You may be using ‘reflection’ in these instances).
- Give examples of how you demonstrated ‘affirming’ toward the client.
- What change, if any, does the client envision regarding her job and her present mental state? Alternatively, maybe the client sees no need for any changes.
- How does Ms. H’s perception of the problem affect her goal for the session or intervention?
- Give at least one example of ‘summarizing’ during the interaction.
- Use APA formatting throughout the paper; a minimum of three citations/references should be included.
- When you’ve completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit a copy to your instructor using the assignment submission page by the end of the workshop.
