Research Is Like Cooking Essay

Research Is Like Cooking Essay.

Research is like cooking isn’t anyone can learn the skills needed for great research, for many college students, cooking is like research in another way, instead of cooking great homemade meals who is sometimes take shortcuts and sell for what is quick easy in familiar, sort of like when we use our old familiar tools like google and Wikipedia for our research.

Why do we take shortcuts and settle for males of ramen noodles and pop tarts, there a lot of reasons, sometime were just too busy don’t have enough time to cook a formal meal, sometimes we leave things to the last minute anymore stuck making a meal with whatever we have on hand, with research we found that students advise others students to start early, so that they are stuck writing a research paper with only the resources they can find the night before the papers did many of the same guidelines that apply to cooking apply to doing research, in cooking as in research you have to plan ahead and know what you want to make, good cooking and good research both depend on quality ingredients, to write a great research proposal you will need to find high quality resources and just like you can create a full meal out of only a few ingredients you need a variety of resources to craft a convincing research proposal.

Finally just like the best restaurants in the city, such as Altavista or/and Altagracia restaurant make meals that they themselves would want to eat, you will find you do your best research when you pick a topic that you care about, a big part of planning ahead is knowing what you are making, you have to have a recipe, the same is true for writing a research proposal, you have to have a topic in a general plan for what kind of paper you want to write an outline of your research argument can serve as your recipe and it will have the added value of telling you what kinds of resources and ingredients you need to write your proposal.

The next step to follow is to go shopping, just like you turn your recipe into a shopping list, you need to turn your research outline into a list of the type of resources you need, by creating a shopping list you are taking control of the kinds of resources that you will use in your research proposal; instead of just settling for what you can find a way you have on hand and remember that the researcher doing is likely to require more than just books, you may need newspaper journal articles or you may want to consult some items in your library. One very important step in both cooking and research is the taste testing stage. Great chefs do lots of taste testing so that they can find just the writing the ingredients, but in the older making you need to do the same for your research, you should plan in looking at plenty of books articles in abstracts before you settle on the resources that you actually need.

Now you have your recipe and all the ingredients you need, it is time to create your meal. Remember that a great recipe calls for the chef of mix the ingredients together, just right so that they work together to create the final product, the same is true with the research proposal, you can’t just throw your resources into your paper, you need to suit the size them and relate them to one another and you need you to put your own garnish on your meal, put your own voice in your research proposal, so that is not just a summary of all your sources, if you remember the research is like cooking and then a requires a planning a recipe and great ingredients, you will produce research that is like the equivalent that you do a great meal.

The Executive Chef Essay

The Executive Chef Essay.

The Executive Chef is possibly one of the most important jobs in all of the food industry. They are responsible for the food that is bought, prepared, cooked, and served to the customers. They manage the food quality and stock in a kitchen, organizing the food and observing the quality of the kitchen hardware. On an average day, Executive chefs will manage a team of chefs during working hours, check the quality and the quantity of the food and make note of any vital ingredients that are low on stock or need to be replaced, and to keep the working space clean and operational.

Being able to manage those tasks and work as a team to complete tasks are vital aspects of an executive chef.

Most chefs went to a college that specializes in the culinary arts, while others learned from years of working in the food industry. Most colleges offer a basic culinary arts program that covers the basics of food preparation and cooking.

Some colleges offer multiple culinary courses that specialize in particular aspects of culinary arts. The San Diego Culinary Institute has classes that take less than one year to finish and receive a diploma. They teach about everything that you need to know in order to run a kitchen or restaurant. Some Chefs open their own restaurants and manage both the cooking and the business simultaneously.

Running the restaurant as a manager covers the technical aspects such as the marketing, pricing, advertising, hiring, and the expenses. All of these responsibilities can be learned at colleges, like The San Diego Culinary Institute, or self-taught. The Executive chef position sounds more Hands-On and more innovative than being a manager. However, being both the manager and the Executive chef would be a very interesting experience and a great career. Being the executive chef of a restaurant pays between forty thousand and seventy thousand dollars a year.

Being a Chef is one of the top culinary career choices, and is the most beneficial in my opinion. Learning how to cook and use hundreds of ingredients to make almost anything you can think of, is a benefit all on its own. I feel that I would be good in this career because of my ability to help and serve people, as well as being able to manage projects and people. I enjoy the technical part of cooking, the way different people like different types of food and how to apply that to multiple people. I personally think that food is one of the greatest ways to bring people together.

My personality survey showed that I would do well in food-service, and that I would enjoy working with other people in a work environment. Being a chef would give me a fair amount of control and responsibility and allow me to use skills I already have, but also learn new ones. Being an executive chef would be a great fit for my learning type. It has plenty of opportunity for interaction with others, clear expectations and explicit instructions, emphasis on the practical value of what I’m learning, and frequent feedback to make sure I’m doing assignments correctly. The career I would like to peruse is an Executive Chef!

According to Rosie to Lucy the author indicate Women in the 1950s sought out to be nothing more than House wives who cooked and clean and took care of the kids while their husbands where off to work, there were woman with careers but that was considered abnormal. Unlike today, having to work for a living and look after a home and family was not considered a particularly desirable option by most women. Most women who could afford it gave up work when they married.

The prospect y of ‘juggling’ a job and a family wasn’t terribly appealing.

Women who were serious about pursuing a career generally stayed single. In that particular generation society imbued within the women to be that by portraying it in television shows such as The honeymooners where the wives of the series stayed home cooked and clean and watch after the home while the husbands were off working hard brining in the money. In the reading from Rosie to Lucy the ? author points out the stereotypical society that existed within that era “? stereotype” of women being ? nothing more than a mere house wife in the 1950s.

Within the reading it explains that “? the media lavished their praise on women who devoted themselves to family and home”?. ? ? Now day’? s ? women of this ? present era ? highly disregard such a claim. With what society ? claim to be ? a “proper social standing for women”. Betty Friedan was one woman who “resented the wide A great difference between the idealized image society held of them as housewives and mothers and the realities of their daily routines”). She seemingly questioned her motives and wonder about ? her purpose as a woman, if being a housewife was ? ll their is to , ? was being a house wife something she was destined to live, why did she want more out of life? ? Growing up in a single parent household in New York, My mother was a housewife similar to the ones in the reading until my father gotten incarcerated and she was forced to go out into the working field and find a steady job while she attended school to find a better career down the line.

Prior to my father going into prison she was well taken care of and her only responsibilities were to tend to me and my siblings and make sure the partment was always clean and spotless and food was always on the stove as I recall, and there was nothing at all subservient or downtrodden about her, nor about her friends Honestly, today’s women from my prospective seem to me to be alot more downtrodden than the women of my mother’s generation. they are all expected to work for a living, and to do almost all of the housework, childcare, etc as well. Nowadays, In this era women no longer view themselves as merely an house wife. They view that they should have careers.

Women of this generation feel that instead of simply staying home cooking and cleaning they to should be in the workforce. This trend, in my eyes, might be the result of the improvement to women’? s status in the society ,the fact that the society has recognized their importance. They should have the same rights as men in job hunting and fulfilling their desire to succeed. Despite women running multimillion dollar corporations, state and local governments, and of course run for president. ven though women in society has come a long way from the 1950s inequality in the work field still exist Hillary Clinton says “The glass ceiling now has 18 million cracks in it, the glass ceiling still exists. ” For example, the ratio of women’? s to men’? s weekly earnings was 79. 9 in 2008, which the points out is the third consecutive year of decline since reaching a height of 81. 0 percent in 2005. In other words, when it comes to equal pay, things aren’t getting better.

My Grand Mother’s Kitchen Essay

My Grand Mother’s Kitchen Essay.

My grandmother’s kitchen has always been my favorite place to spend my summer in when I was younger through my early teen years. There are joyful memories as decorative architect, and my grandmother’s delicious meals that I always adore. Every time I walked into the kitchen, I always enjoyed looking around because it was a warm and familiar place. It seemed like an old, conservative Indian kitchen. The walls and the floor made of the mixture of mud, cow dung, and dry hay.

These natural resources gave rain forced to all wall as well as it was a heat and cold resistant.

In summer time, we could feel quite chilled to sit on the floor. The walls were hand painted by my grandmother. Furthermore, my Granny made the pattern on the floor which looked like a wave. The windows of the kitchen captured an amazing view of the garden from her backyard. The roof was tiled with semi cylinder in dovetail manner.

On the right side of the door there was an open fire place called wooden stove where my grandmother used to cook vegetable and make spiced tea for us. Every time I walked in the kitchen, I was amazed by the view of the garden, the beautiful drawing on the walls and architecture of kitchen.

My grandmother delicious food that I ate there, still I can smell it. My granny was a wonderful cook. And she used to prepare tasteful dishes for us. I can never forget the smell in the air of the cooked pizza my granny made. I picked up a lot from granny since, she though me a lot of recipes. She understood my eagerness and interest of how she uses different materials and turn into a delicious plate. My grandmother’s attractive kitchen and wonderful taste of food make me feel spectacular. CLASSIFICATION

Five Classifications of my Classmates

There are many classifications of my classmates, why? Of course it’s because all of us have different traits and classifications.

But I will only give some of their classifications that most of us students can really relate.

The first are the “loners”, they are the ones who usually prefer to be alone in all the things they do. They love quiet places wherein they can stay alone studying or doing home works. They prefer places wherein no one would even bother to dare disturb them. Some called them weirdo.

The second classification is the “shy type”, they are not loners, they are just afraid of doing first moves. They won’t approach you unless you will be the first one to smile on them.

Third, the “darling of the Crowd”/ “the clown” he’s always the one who makes us laugh even during class.

Fourth, of course, “the genius”, the one who’s always top of the class, the boss, but the boring one.

Last but not the least, the “campus crush”, one of the reasons why most of are excited to go to school.

Those are only few of my classmates’ classifications. Every day, every year, we meet different classmates, friends and school mates (we even encountered an enemy). But at the end of the day, bear in mind that our classmates and professors are our second family and our school is our second home.

ANALOGY

Analogy between Love and Cooking

Love is like a dish, a recipe, a favorite food. Loving is much likely cooking your favorite dish. You want it to be extra special, full of flavors. You always want to make sure that every ingredients are available and on the right amount. Love fulfills your heart as much as how you fulfill someone’s hunger when you cook their favorite dishes. It satisfies your hunger and craving for something. Love also requires effort just like when we are cooking our favorite dish or a special dish. It requires your attention so that it will not be overcooked nor half cook.

But love can also give us disappointment when someone breaks our heart. Just like cooking, no matter how best we did, no matter how we made it special, it will still remain tasteless if we’ll forget to put the seasoning. But despite of how painful it will be, just like cooking, we are still ready to do it over and over again. But for us to make sure that we’re not doing the same mistakes again, we better should do all the procedures and rules of love and cooking.

COMPARISON AND CONTRAST
Compare and Contrast Public and Private Schools

Planning to go to school but can’t decide where to go? Here are some comparisons and contrasts about public and private schools. The biggest difference of the public and private schools are the tuition fees. It’s like buying from first class department store and on a simple “tiangge”. It’s like going to SM Megamall and going to Baclaran or Divisoria. In a private school, you are required to pay even for smallest miscellaneous. You are required to pay tuition fees that rate from thousands of pesos.

But frankly speaking, it offers a good quality of education. It has many resources for good teaching for it is run by a particular person who can afford to supply all the needs of the school. While in public schools, it is run by the government. If you can’t afford to go to a prestigious school, a public school is willing to accept you. It even offers a free schooling. But, it has limited resources because it only depends by the project that the government will provide.

More students prefer to study on a private school not just for quality education but most for fame, because some of us believed that if you’re in a private school, you’re famous men. But for me, it’s not important whether you are in a private or a public school. As long as you are learning and you are becoming ready to face your future. It still depends on us students, private or public, if we are really sincere and willing to study, it won’t really matter at all.

How to Make a Delicious Chicken Soup Essay

How to Make a Delicious Chicken Soup Essay.

Do you miss your family? Do you miss your mom’s cooking? Cooking is a great way to bring back those good times. In my country is customary having soup at lunch, but there is one specific soup my mom would make when I was sick, and this would make me feel better, chicken soup. You will need the following ingredients to make this unforgettable meal: a bag of noodles, 8 chicken legs, 2 carrots, 3 potatoes, garlic, ginger, 2 onions, ¼ cup celery, 1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves, 3 lemons, 1 cup vinegar and salt.

Making chicken soup is easy when you follow these instructions.

The first thing you need to do is to clean the chicken properly. First, place the chicken legs in a bowl with vinegar and leave it there for about 20 minutes. Then, remove the vinegar and proceed to clean the chicken legs with lemon. Cut the lemons in 3 pieces because that makes it easier to squeeze. Make sure that you rub the lemons on the chicken legs.

After if you are not in a rush. Boil some water in a pot, once your water is boiled, you can now pour the water into the bowl that contains the chicken and drain it. It is very important that prior to eating any meat, you clean it.

Now we need to wash all the rests of the ingredients. After that, boil 2 liters of water. While the water is boiling, dice the onions. Peel the carrots and cut them as well as the celery into 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces then mince the fresh parsley leaves. When you finish doing that, place the chicken, carrots, garlic, potatoes and the onions into the boil water. There has to be enough water to cover the chicken. Now, add salt. You need to add just a little bit of salt. It is important to cover the pot, and do not open it until the chicken is completely cooked, so all the flavors will stay in the soup.

The last thing you need to do is to add the noodles and the ginger. Boil until the noodles are ready. The more you boil the soup, the better it tastes. If you are a person who doesn’t enjoy the spicy food, try cooking this soup without the garlic. All the other ingredients are really necessary to make it delicious, specially the ginger.

Finally, serve in warm bowls and sprinkled with chopped parsley and the celery leaves. Remember that the chicken is the star ingredient, so use the best you can get your hands on. This soup is delicious and really easy to make. In addition it would help you with your health, for example since the soup contains ginger it will make you feel better if you have a stomachache. Now that the soup is ready, enjoy it!

Thus, we opted to just be priced by labor since it is where all the effort goes. By piece, we decided to cost it PHP 25.00. Don’t misinterpret the price as an expensive one. This is kind of affordable though since our product is rich in chocolate flavor that has extraordinary taste and much BIGGER than the ordinary sized-brownie. We sell it by piece and we also sell it by box. Each box contains 10 brownies. We won’t consider the 25×10 method though. Instead, we pronounced the cost of the homemade product by box as PHP 225.00 only. When it comes to customizing your brownie, there’ll be an additional charge to be specified. But since we are using the student’s point of view here and probably, it is near impossible to sell our homemade product in elementary schools since we don’t have any access, we opted to just sell our product inside our school campus. This would be a big hit though, since majority of students nowadays are naturally kids at heart who are fond of eating sweets and luscious stuffs.

Lasagna Essay

Lasagna Essay.

Have you ever compared store bought lasagna to a home-made one? There is no comparison, home-made wins every time. It may seem like a hassle to make your own, but in reality it is not that difficult. You will also be more satisfied in the quality and taste of your lasagna if you make it yourself. It’s a great meal to share with your family or just to save in the refrigerator and eat throughout the week. If you are conscious about your health this lasagna will be good to make because it uses chicken not meat.

In order to make this lasagna you need to gather your ingredients, prepare the ingredients, and put the dish together and bake it. To bake anything you need to preheat your oven, this recipe calls for the oven to be at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. After you preheat your oven you can wash your hands. Dry your hands then bring out the tools and ingredients you will be using.

As far as tools go you will need a rectangular pan, two deep pots, foil paper, two deep bowls, cooking spray, a spoon, knife, strainer and spatula.

Once you have all your tools together you can set them aside and start getting your ingredients. You will need un-cooked lasagna noodles, marina sauce, ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, two raw medium sized chicken breasts, salt, garlic cloves, one onion and one egg. If you’d like a healthier version you can always substitute with wheat pasta and fat free cheese. Now that you have all your tools and ingredients you are ready to start preparing your ingredients. The most important part of making this dish is how you prepare the ingredients.

Bring out your two deep pots and fill both of them halfway with water, then place both pots on a hot stove. Once the water begins to boil take out the noodles from the box and put them all in the pot, also take the raw chicken and boil it in the other pot. Peel the onion and garlic, then cut the onion in half and separate the rings and put both ingredients into the pot with the raw chicken. While the pasta and chicken are cooking, in one of your bowls get a spoon and pour the ricotta cheese in the bowl, then crack your egg into the bowl and mix them together.

After the noodles are fully cooked drain them with your strainer and set them aside. Also drain the chicken, leaving the onion and garlic in the pot because you won’t need them after that. When the chicken cools off start shredding it into the other bowl you brought out. Mix in the marina sauce with the shredded chicken until the chicken is evenly coated. You’ve prepared your ingredients now it’s time to put everything together. No lasagna looks perfect so instead of trying to make it look perfect, focus on getting as much pasta, chicken and cheese as you can in there.

Prepare your pan by spraying it with cooking spray so nothing sticks. Start off by laying down three or four (depending on your pan size) noodles diagonally down into your pan. Grab the ricotta cheese mixture and evenly spread it on the noodles. After the noodles are covered with cheese begin to spread the chicken and marina sauce on top of the cheese. Finally, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the chicken then repeat the previous four steps until there is no room left in the pan.

Once your pan is completely full cover it tightly in foil paper, and put it in the oven. Let the lasagna cook for about an hour, then remove the foil and put it back into the oven for about ten minutes. Once the lasagna is done cooking take it out, let it cool, and then serve it. Now that you see the entire process of making lasagna you can see how simple it is to make one. You can impress friends and family with the seemingly complicated dish you made in about an hour. Don’t get caught up on the aesthetics but more on the taste.

I’ve made a messy lasagna that ended up tasting delicious. Don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t come out amazing the first time around, that’s what practice is for. If you find that other ingredients work better then use them, it’s a very flexible dish. Just follow the basic guidelines and it should come out great every time. Most importantly remember that it is a fun dish that should be shared with friends and family. So next time your family wants a store bought lasagna dazzle them with a significantly better home-made one.

Italian Cuisine vs. Chinese Cuisine Essay

Italian Cuisine vs. Chinese Cuisine Essay.

My two favorite foods of all time are Italian and Chinese cuisines. Although, they share common ingredients, the flavors are quite different. Italians use a variety of cheeses and heavy sauces in their menus, while Chinese add Asian spice to their sauces they are usually darker in color, and vary in sweet and spicy. They also have different types of cooking techniques that in itself is an art. A common ingredient in both Italian and Chinese cuisine is pasta. Nothing beats a good plate of spaghetti and meatballs in a mouthwatering picked from the garden fresh taste of marinara sauce, poured over the top of homemade al dente pasta, with a firm but delicate meatball placed in the center of the spaghetti.

Excluding, when you’re in the mood for Chinese, chicken lo mien is also made with pasta.

The pasta is perfectly spiced to perfection with fork tender chicken bites that melt in your mouth. Another aspect of these two types of foods have in common is both use sauces with their dishes.

Italian foods use thick, creamy, or chunky sauces and velvety smooth such as Alfredo, tomato, and garlic sauces. The variation of these sauces, the choices are numerous. Chinese food also has many scrumptious flavors of sauces such as my favorite General Tso chicken; it is a garlicky, spicy sauce that packs a lot of flavor along with sweet and sour, and orange sauces.

Last but not least, both styles of cuisines cook their food of course, but they have methods that contrast from each other. Italian foods are usually baked, which takes longer to cook whereas, Chinese cuisine food is stir fried they cook their food in woks, which is a faster way to cook. Italian and Chinese cuisine has their similarities but vary in taste. These very different ways of using ingredients, sauces’, and cooking techniques is why I enjoy them both tremendously. My feelings are when it comes to food “when baking, follow directions. When cooking, go by your own taste.” ~Laiko Bahrs
