- Review the Chapter 1 PowerPoint file(PowerPoint presentation).

- Search the National Notifiable Infectious Disease List(new tab) and choose an infectious disease to research.
- Post your chosen infectious disease to the 1.2 Discussion Forum(new tab) by Day 3 of the workshop.
- Each student should choose a different infectious disease. There should be no duplicates.
- Using your chosen infectious disease, write an initial response to the following prompts:
- Describe the relationship between host, agent, environment, and time.
- Describe the chain of transmission.
- Discuss ways one might use primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention measures to reduce the impact of the disease.
- Discuss how nursing and epidemiology perspectives could collaborate to promote primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention efforts.
- Support your initial discussion post with references that are relevant, scholarly, peer-reviewed sources, or authoritative professional organizations.
